Chapter 2

The next morning, I stood up, stretched my arms and legs and set of walking. I wasn’t eager to look back, I was... I just know I had to go, no emotions about the grave, or the cave itself. I just woke up, stood up, and walked out, not even eager to have breakfast. I wasn’t hungry anyway, and where should I get the food from? The camp around the corner I just burned to the ground?

I walked for some time, nothing on my mind, just walking. Step by step, one foot before the other. Snow and wind all around me. I wondered if the water clan already noticed that one of their towns, or camps or whatever they call it, was swept away. I wondered if they would blame the fire clan. I didn’t care, if they would come for me I would sniff them out with ease anyway. I stopped thinking.

My feet rested themselves at the end of the island, at the edge... Then it hit me. How was I supposed to call Pyrr to come to this island if AND I couldn’t speak draconis AND he couldn’t hear me because he was so far gone!

I summoned Cyrus. Or at least, I called him.

“You need my advice, no no, no need to tell me what you need. I am you remember, it is rather simple really. I know I am you Josh, but I am more... complicated. I live longer then you, I know more, I have seen more from this world. You ask me why? I just live longer, but that is a story for another time, we need to get going. So, yes, I can speak draconis, so you just talk English and it will be easily translated. Second, you are Pyrr’s master, he will come, no need to yell, just ask him politely, or command him, I don’t care, whatever suits you best, but he will come”

I just relied on my instincts and Cyrus knowledge.

“Pyrr, I need you, come to the edge of the Northern Isles where you have set me of.”

It sounded like some hisses and soft growling. It was quit strange, but hey, I was able to call him. Now I needed to wait until he would show up, which could take a while, I guessed he would be here around dusk. Since it took us 12 hours last time to get here as well, of course, he didn’t need to fly with me on his back. But there already were some hours escaping because of the walk I made. Dusk it is then.

I settled myself on the ground, sitting on my cloak within the snow. Looking over the ice cold see, the wind blowing through my hair, snow crystals falling down on my nose. I felt, since the first time I got in this world, since the first time that Cyrus was been given birth too, I felt at peace. Not like when I was with Asteria or with friends, just me, alone, my mind settled. Everything felt like it was falling into place. I didn’t come here to save the fire clan, to meet with my real parents, I didn’t come here out of love, or friendship, no. I came here because my hunger to power needed to be stilled, to let that empty whole in my heart be filled up. That is the reason I was here, not to bring the fire tribe glory, but to put the war to an end. It sounded so not like me, so noble, but, it wasn’t the fire clan who was going to win. Another tribe was forming, another clan had risen under my flag. Even though most didn’t know it yet. Darkness was going to prevail, Darkness was the key to everything, the answers. Darkness didn’t need a god, Darkness fought for his own good. And above this tribe, I would be standing, a prince, born in Darkness, in despair, in not knowing, hungry for power and victory. I would get some followers, I would convince them, pursue them, and if they didn’t agree, kill them. Darkness brought and still brings me spells others will dream about to control. My power will be limitless, my power, I will become, the prince of Darkness...

And Nestor was going to help me with that.
